Most of the older pensioners living legally in Spain have no worries as to proven income, the people who need to worry are the retirees who have not done the formalities for residencia, healthcare etc., these are the people living in Spain who will have problems after Brexit.

...te pensions for older people are appalling, about £150 per week. A few years ago this changed and retirees now receive a vastly increased weekly pension, unfortunately, this did not cover existing pensioners at the time. There were protests and demonstrations about this two tier system but they came to nothing.
As an existing resident in Spain I am extremely worried about a letter I received from the UK governments a few weeks ago. The letter, dated 23rd September 2019, relates to reciprocal agreements between UK and Spain which finish when Brexit occurs. The letter states that the reciprical agreement regarding health has been extended until 31st December 2020, if no agreement is in place by then my healthcare here in Spain will cease and I should take out private health cover. There is also a paragraph regarding EHIC cards which will no longer be valid after Brexit.
Another worrying part if the letter was that annual state pension increases will not be guaranteed unless an agreement is reached. Now I know these increases are a pittance but in this day and age ‘every little helps’. How can governments create a two tier pension system and then with hold annual increments. I worked continuously for 55 years to receive my pension, as did many other people.
EHIC cards will continue and will be replaced by a simular agreement albeit under a different name.
