Valencia region

On July 8th, the Government of the Valencia region announced a new raft of measures that would come into force at midnight on July 9th and would stay in place until at least July 25th. These include closing nightlife venues again due to the “explosion of contagions” among young people. Restaurants and bars are also to close half an hour earlier by 12:30am and 40 municipalities with a high incidence rate will have a curfew from 1am-6am.

Current restrictions include:

  • The interiors of bars and restaurants can operate at 50 percent capacity, while there is no limit on the terraces. Up to 10 can sit per table both indoors and out. Eating at the bar and smoking are not allowed. They must close by 1am.
  • Nightlife venues can open until 2am at 50 percent capacity indoors and with no capacity limits outdoors. You can only drink if you’re sitting down, and dancing and singing karaoke are not allowed.
  • Cinemas and theatres can operate at 75 percent capacity and there is no capacity limit for museums and galleries.
  • Gyms can open to 50 percent capacity with a maximum of 15 for indoor group activities and 25 for outdoor group activities.
  • Shops can open to a 75 percent capacity limit.

Before anyone asks, the "40 municipalities" in which the curfew has been reinstated are mainly in the Valencia province; however, a list of them has yet to be announced.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi all

The president of the Valencian Community has asked the Supreme Tribunal to apply the curfew to 40 towns. Daya Nueva is the only town in this area on the list. We are still waiting the outcome of the application and when it will start.

Stay safe out there.

Kind Regards

Neil

Thanks Neil.  We usually go through Daya Vieja and Daya Nueva to get to our bank in Almoradi, so it looks like we'll have to go on the AP7 for a while instead.

Any idea why Daya Nueva continues to be a hotspot for infections?

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim

Sorry I have no idea. All I can say is that I am still wearing my mask when in public even if I can social distance!

Stay safe

Kind Regards

Neil
