Apologies if I've asked this before but I'm arriving in Alicante early March for the sole purpose of finding an apartment to rent for myself Torrevieja area.

My daughter is traveling with me although she won't be living there.

My question is, if I find something that suits my needs (estate agent) as far as a contract is concerned, I obviously have a concern about understanding it, with my limited Spanish 🙄

I suppose the best option would be to have someone to translate it for me.

How do people go about this?

By the way, I have an Irish passport and I've applied for my NIE.

Many thanks

Tricia 🙂

Don't pay anything upfront to any agent. Don't sign anything you don't fully understand. Deposits (usually 1-2 month's rent) are rarely, not to say never, reimbursed. Good luck, you'll need it.

Simply take the long term rental contract to a gestor who knows about rental contracts. For a small charge they will explain everything. As Killjoy has said, don't pay anything upfront until you are fully satisfied with the rental conditions. I had to pay two months rental up front.

If you are a UK passport holder and living in the UK you will need a visa before you can live in Spain long term.

It isn't considered polite to hijack someone else's post. Try posting your question on a separate thread.
