I believe that Almeria town can also be quite busy and not very quiet.   However there are certainly much quieter towns in the Province of Almeria.

‘Calpe’ for me is the best spot on the ‘Costa  Blanca’, Spain and where ever I have been and that includes many many places.  Surrounded by beautiful scenery,  amazing beaches,  first class infrastructure and very safe.  Affordable and only forty minutes from ‘Alicante’ and it’s airport, with comfortable cheap transport available.

The many documentaries on ‘Youtube’ will help but do spend time there winter and summer before you make that important decision.

I have never seen a ‘jelly fish’ and it has the much desired ‘Blue Flag’.

The Spanish say that Almeria is ´´ 6 meses invernio y 6 meses infierno´´   - 6 months winter, 6 months hell (hot as ).  As long as you are aware...

I lived in Almeria from the middle of April until early November and found the sea breeze kept the heat bearable. Its proximity to the sea is excellent and most of the amenities are within easy walkibg distance or a short bus ride.

The only drawback is the rail network which needs bringing into line with the rest of the large cities. The buses, however, are quite plentiful and serve all the major cities.

Why not look at Guardamar smaller and easy reach of Torrevieja. Has beach, bus station, market, large and small shops in fact nearly everything you need in walking distance.

Hi we've got a place in San luis just outside torrevija and it's fantastic for being quite. It's got its own central area with a couple of bars and a general shop. It's only 10 minutes to torre in the car and a reglar bus service for 1.35 euro were at the top end near the park.
