Agree totally.

Just annoying when you know of those not confirming to regulations yet we do it by the law.

I agree.  However some of the illegals are now being caught out and if you know of any you can report them yourself.

I was under the impression ion you only had this visit if you didn't have a current habitation certificate. As we have only just bought this property we have anew certificate . Maybe I have misunderstood

Hi!

Applied in January 2019 in La Zenia. Still hasn't received anything...

Question -- how does registering guests work when you rent out using AirBnB or Booking? Do you do it manually? Are passport numbers/scans required?

If so, I'd imagine this may make many guests uncomfortable to share their passport data with the host.

Received our license yesterday!

It's been almost 11 months waiting (Orihuela). Now can finally move on with the process. Is Guardia Civil the only step left? Is it there I get a plaque?

Thanks,

Annewalks

Congratulation on license. How long did you wait from start to finish. I have waited 8 months to get the town hall part of license which I received in June. The next step was applied for in June and am still waiting. Wondered how much longer will be . Thsnks

Peetonn

Glad to hear it has finally arrived!

You will need to make an appointment to register with the Guardia Civil.  Yes you will need the official plaque and the official complaints forms and the official notice to say you have the forms.  Both the notice and the plague can be displayed inside as long as by the main entrance.  Once you are registered with the Guardia Civil they will give you your access codes to register your guests.

We collect the passport details for all guests aged 16 years or older in advance on the contract which can just be checked by our keyholder.  (Our guests also pay in full in advance.)  The last thing you want is for someone to turn up and be difficult about letting you see passports etc. so make sure that you disclose the need to obtain the passport details, and state with whom the info will be shared (to comply with GDPR) on your booking form when you take the booking - that way they guest is told right from the start that this is a legal requirement.

Hi Dave!

Thanks for the info. Btw, I've read your whole guide on holiday lets, thank you for your work.

As I'm planning my next steps, it seems most logical way for me to proceed is to hire a company that may act as my keyholder and help me with the last steps of the process as I'm not fluent in Spanish yet. Would you have any suggestions on trustworthy companies in the area? I'd appreciate if you could share (direct message or otherwise) some.

Thanks,
