Hi Poppy

In my experience, fantastic! I’ve used them to transfer funds from the U.K. to my Spanish bank for a while now. The longest it’s taken? 9 seconds! Simple and easy to use 🤪🥂

Is transferwise a good company to use ?

Has anybody used them for transferring funds from a Spanish sterling account to spanish euro account. We bank with Sabadell and at the moment their exchange rate is low and then they charge you

Hi Mslynn

I use “Wise”, currently, just for transferring money so yes, there’s a need to set up your bank details, password, email etc. All very simple

They also have a debit card you can load up to enable you to pay for services and goods. £5 if I remember correctly

I understand you can also use it as a regular account, for paying your Spanish direct debits. I’ve not explored this yet. My brain still tells me I need a bank I can walk into if I have problems 😄😄 Something for the future perhaps 🤪🥂

Have you considered Revolut. It's basically a uk bank account with a Visa card that you can top up immediately and use anywhere that accepts Visa. You get instant exchange rate and you can choose whether to exchange or not. You can exchange to many different currencies, not just sterling to euros. No charge to exchange.
