Hi, we are driving to Bilbao in 3 weeks time. Has anyone done this drive, if so can you recommend places to stop for food, etc. En-route ? Also how long roughly did it take. We are allowing approx. 10 hours . Thanks in advance.

If you're taking the Valencia - Segunto - Zaragoza - Bilbao route, which I always do, there's a very good motorway stop about 40km north of Teruel called Valcarce La Báscula, very popular with truckers. It's on the Villafranca del Campo junction. It's a very bleak landscape up there! You can't miss this place because it has a very tall sign, a tall pole with rectangular panel on top, that can be seen a couple of kms away.
As well as fuel and a shop, it has a side entrance into a cafe and restaurant, free toilets too. If you're there at lunchtime, there's a good three course 'menu del dia' inc. drinks for about 12€, but it's a good place to stop just for coffee and a snack.

Hi I did it 6 weeks ago! It was 810 km to la Mata,
Plenty of garages to stop in !
9.20 mins!!!
Be careful,I got a speeding ticket,doing 7km over the limit!!

I drove for 2 hours,then stopped for 5 mins every hour,and 1 15 min lunch break!! Also 1 toll 32 euro!!!

We do this trip 2-4 times a year. In our motorhome it’s easy. In the car, very different. Especially as we have had to use the Santander ferry to-from Javea.
This year we have driven in our car.
On the way Santander - javea we have shared the driving. On the way back, we have stayed at Loteta experience overnight in magallón. Much easier.
