I'm going to the Costa Blanca in July to try out living and to buy an apartment. I think close to Torrevieja, inland like Rojales. I have asthma, athrosis  and therefore I am looking for a good place to get "good and healthy  air" all year round. Can anyone give me a good tip? Thank you in advance for your efforts.

As our papers frequently tell us,that the areas between the lakes is one of the most healthy places to live in the world?

Have a look on Google.

I live between the lakes.

We do get problems with mozzies, but as soon as they get troublesome,we have large tankers of insecticide spray everywhere.

We have lived here for 9 years, which proves they are not that bad.

There a lot of products on the market which work perfectly for the home.

We have a fan on the porch,so they can't actually get near to us,they are just blown away.

A couple of hours before bed we spray each bedroom, and leave the windows open.

All this is only at certain times, not all year.

I thought my asthma would improve living in Spain but it hasn’t, with the damp conditions that can prevail in winter I have not seen any improvement.

I live an active lifestyle and I feel that being able to get out more throughout the year to do my chosen sport does make it a better place to live but my asthma has not improved. I will add that medications are more easily available to buy over the counter if you are getting low on doses.

Thank you very much, i whas living in Tenerife,- (for me the best climate of the world, but dont want go back on an Island)- all that time no problems. I think about the humidity in winter its maybe better more in Inland, near the mountains? What ever, i will see becourse i think its also much more better for the Arthrosis.

Orihuela Costa is not as healthy place to live as you may read in tourist guides. Firstly it is very dusty here, slight breeze and air is full of dust particles, Sahara dust and whatever else. Secondly the pollution caused by cars is overhelming and getting worse. As we all are saving pennies, we are crowding the coastal road and avoiding toll road. Than don't forget the pollen as a major allergen.

High humidity causing mould and mildew flourish, not the best conditions for asthma.

For arthritis I would avoid winter months, if you are not confident, that you can heat up freezing draughty accomodation.

I do live inland near the mountains and air quality is often poor. My neighbour has arthrosis and is still suffering just as much, don’t believe all you hear, think carefully before you commit.
