Don't touch Linea Direct! They are very unpleasant if you decide to go elsewhere! Easy Care Insurance are good and not hugely expensive.

Comares, can you please expand on your statement with more details of specific issues you have found with that Insurance Company.

Thank You.

I was quoted a very high renewal rate and I did not choose to renew. They automatically renewed without any permission. When I spoke to them I was verbally assaulted in a very unpleasant manner. They wanted to know who I was going with and I refused to tell them. Their Customer Service is wanting.

In Spain you have to give one month's notice to cancel a policy otherwise it will automatically renew. I was with Linea Directa and I rang them to let them know I didn't want to renew and I was offered a discount ( which really annoys me but that is the way of insurance now ) and when it was obvious I wasn't interested the attitude did change, granted, but I was sent a cancellation form by e-mail which I duly completed and returned and then heard nothing. I had to contact them again to ask for confirmation that the policy had been cancelled and this was sent promptly.

I have never had to give a month's notice. That is a Linea Directa thing.

Dont take out the Policy using payment by Direct Debit. I have found some  Insurance Companies try to induce customers into this type of Payment . If Non Direct Debit, these Companies cannot renew without your permission , That is, of course, unless they wish to renew for free.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

RayD, it may well be a Spanish thing ,but its certainly not my thing.

Two years ago I fell for that trick and my Insurance was renewed at a much higher premium than I was happy with.

The next year the Direct Debit was cancelled prior to renewal date and I went elsewhere.

The money has not been taken in 'other ways' ,and they would have a very hard job getting it ,if they tried.
