Alfonso from Gran Alacant sorted my car insurance out yesterday with no problems, no hard sell.

Talked through options over the phone, confirmed everything in writing and had everything set up in an hour.

Would recommend.

You need to make sure that the money is still not in your name. That happened to a friend of mine but the other way round. The new owner did not register it in their name and for months my friend had letters to him. He eventually went to the La Guardia Civil and took out a "Denuncia" after that everything was clear.

If a debt is in your name and you try to sell your house the debt will need to be paid. It could have accrued quite a lot of interest. Debts do not get written off so easily as in the UK. Spanish companies are like a dog with a bone.

RayD that must have been a nasty surprise. God on you for sticking to your guns and refusing to pay a debt that wasnt yours. Your relating , here, of that experience may well be a help to others who may find themselves in such a predicament

I have my car insurance with Liberty Seguros for the 2nd year running after a recommendation from a friend.  I found them a bit more expensive than other quotes but went with them anyway. I’ve no complaints to date but never had to make a claim yet and hopefully never have to.

As RayD has wisely commented upon. The proof of worth is if they are not backwards in coming forward with the cash in the event of a claim against the Policy.
