Richard, I am not a 'nit picker' but just needed to make sure that we were referring to the correct place!

Hi Karen! My husband Mick and I relocated to Pinet, Spain in March from Scotland. We live in the mountains but it's a quick drive to the beach. We love our little village but will probably move closer to the coast next year. Thus far we have loved it here and there are always things to do. l do miss Scotland but I don't miss the rain and dampness. Good luck in your research let us know if you make the move.

HI Karen

I'm a Scottish Lady and purchased my Holiday home in Toretta Florida (5 mns walk to Haberneras, etc - 20mns to Marina) 4 years ago and absolutely love it!....No flash flooding !

I have a great selection of supermarkets, bars, restaurants, hairdressers, dentists, pharmacy, banks - as well as the Haberneras Shopping Mall, Cinema, Bowling (and soon a chippie!) - ALL within waklking distance.  I came over twice on wknd viewing trips via Allegro Estate Agents/Glasgow Agent for flights - everything was taken care off and nothing was too much trouble

I have a great mixture of Spanish, Irish, Norwegian neighbours and we have a get together every wknd for Sangria and a blether....can be tricky as my Spanish is not great and Norwegian is zilch but it's amazing how we all manage to understand each other

Hi Karen,

We're from Scotland and bought a holiday apartment in Jardin del Mar V just over a year ago. We are within walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants and only a 10 minute bus trip into Torrevieja if we want some more variety. It's the best thing we have ever done and as we're now both retired we can come over as often as we like. Love it.

Karen - you can walk up the Calle Orihuelas Road from the Marina - it takes you straight up to the Haberneras & Torretta Florida - The Marina Bar (with pool) is just round the corner from my house - they have a Live Jazz Band every Tues Lunchtime and various classes in the evening - Bingo, Line Dancing, crafts, etc

Hi welcome to the 'Torre'!!area. Check out the Ladies of Spain Facebook site. Lots on there , you are always welcome at the coffee mornings , I go to the Catral one on Tuesday mornings and the Guardamar coffee Wednesday after Yoga on the beach (never done anything like yoga before... fantastic) . My husband and I decided to sell up in the UK and move to Spain 18 months ago, although still early doors for me I can say I have met some really lovely people. Good luck with your new adventure and I hope to meet you one day

We miss Greggs haha my husband said the other day he wanted a bacon roll. We miss the bakeries in Scotland the cakes are not the same here. Seems there is a pattern of food lol. Don't miss the rain, it's been so hot here even in the mountains had to turn on the air conditioner during the day but the nights are still cool with a breeze. We are still adjusting but love it. Hope you are able to come back soon.

Hi Karen, from one Scot to another, I am a Glaswegian.   I noticed you did mention Habarneras Shopping.  Next time if its shopping  try La Zenia Boulevard it's massive.   See Google maps
