I have a static mobile home just outside el campello. It's 10 minute walk to the tram which takes you up and down the coast from Alicante to Benidorm and on to Denia I believe.

I may wish to rent it out in the future. I don't have a car. I just moved here two weeks ago. I'm learning!

Hi. I have an apartment in Guardamar. A great location. A Sanish working town which was what I wanted. I am close to shops, bars,a lovely park and the bus garage  15 min walk to the beach. I have not worked out the local buses but the main one goes to Torroveja and Alicante. I  luv it.

Happy for u Den, but we must speak as we find. I have a little Spanish (taught others holiday Spanish) so expected to get on well with my Spanish neighbours, but was not given the chance to try it out. Had the loneliest three months of my life until I found where the English speaking European's we're.

Back home now and and much happier, so both of us in the right pleace for us.

I am 69 and just bought a new furnished 2 bedroom aparrrnent in La Zenia. I made the choice to be a short taxi ride to shops beach and all the local towns - Torrevieja, Murcia, etc. i am in  a quiet stylish area but when on your own I am not far from anywhere.  I decided to buy as know I will use it as much as possible and enjoy my latter years in the warm sunshine. Also found local coach co which does amazing day trips. Hope this helps. Masa very good local estate agent.

Firstly, I hope you find the right area for you.

I have an apartment in central Torrevieja and it's perfect for me as I speak Spanish.

The main town is 10 minutes walk from me and is a working Spanish town which isn't quiet in winter. I'm a couple of minutes from the beach which is perfect.

The airport bus goes direct with no stopping - 50 minutes €7.

Phoenix club runs every Monday down by the harbour for the older person. They organise cinema, bowls, coach trips etc.

If you don't want to be in the main town area there are a lot of urbanisations with expats a short walk from the town or a with a regular bus.

Personally I find the Spanish very friendly and helpful and am treated like family by my neighbours.

I've been in places where we've been looking at a map or unsure where we were and they've come up offering help, not knowing I speak Spanish.

I think it's very sad that the previous lady didn't find that with her neighbours as you'll read many instances of couples not speaking the language but still having nights out and getting on with neighbours.

I'd just like to say if you come to the airport and take the bus into Torrevieja then do use this link for the buses as they do change between winter and summer. The previous link has helpful info but was dated July 2019 so timings may be out of date.

Wishing you good luck.

Hello...we own apartments in Guardamar and let short summer and longer winter rentals. The person who works for us there in Spain can also provide guests with a airport service. Take a look at www.bradybunch.info Kind regards, Eve

Depending on where you are (UK?) - why not try to arrange a viewing trip - I did this with a travel company in Glasgow (£99 return flights) and they arranged an Agent from Alegria, Torrevieja to collect me from Alicante Airport and take me to a Hotel they had booked for me (vastly reduced price) - the Agent then took me to as many Apartments/Town Houses/Fincas as possible within my budget....over a period of 3days - they were really good and when I'd made my decision they arranged a Solicitor, Power of Attorney, NIE number, Bank Account, etc - indeed everything I needed for my new Spanish Holiday home - oh and when I paid my deposit the £99 flight price was refunded

I actually completed 2 x Viewing trips before I found what I wanted

Good luck x

Sorry - it was over 4yrs ago now - please send an e/m to Alegria asking which Scottish Agent arranged the viewing trips - tell them that Linda Bruce from Aberdeen recommended them

Sounds like that's the Agent just husstling for a sale - don't be bullied!
