I am looking for a job in the fitness industry. I am currently a police officer in Scotland and looking to move abroad.

I am a qualified level 2 gym instructor and level 3 person trainer.

Also got experience in hgv driving, landscaping and grounds work if any of these opportunities arise, along with security work, I would consider.

You need a confirmed job offer with a contract before applying for work visa to come to Spain. The prospective employer must attest that there was no EU citizen who could carry out the work.

You then need to apply for a visa (probably from the Spanish consulate in Edinburgh) with proof of work. If you do get a job in Spain, you will be paying social security (bit like NI) which will cover you for health care.

Best of luck but you do need a firm job offer before applying for a work permit.

Rules for moving to Portugal are less stringent than Spain, although you still need a job offer, so maybe set your sights there but it is really difficult in Spain.

As a UK passport holder you will need a visa to live and work in Spain.

You will need to apply for and get a contracted position, then your prospective employer will need to apply for a work visa on your behalf from the Spanish consulate.

You can't move to Spain permanently without some sort of visa.

All available work must be offered to EU citizens first by law.

As other posters have advised unless you are a EU/EEA passport holder you cannot move to Spain or any other EU/EEA country with the exception of Ireland without a visa. These links will provide further information:
