Hi all, i know its generally not a good idea to purchase a property without viewing. Ignoring this logical approach we are tempted to purchase a property in La Siesta. Its on Calle Milan near Bar Washington, can any body give some advice on what the area is like for for a forty year old couple looking to live here full time?

You would be silly to think about buying a property without viewing, what the immediate area is like or neighbours as well as state of house and has work been done without official permission etc, do not rely on photos they can be extremely misleading. Why not look to rent for a short time nearby so you can get a feel for the general area it would be money well spent

Do  not  attempt  to  buy  virtually,   it  would  be utterly  mad,  You  need  to  see  the   area around  property,   What  is  located  in  next  streets,

There  is plenty  of  good  senisble  honest and independent  information  freely available on this Forum,

Sit  back  relax   and  think  as  their  is  more  Properties  for  Sale than  buyer's

Best  of  Luck with your move??

We bought in 2018 and had a short list of 10 properties to view, we had viewed these online before travelling to Spain.

When we actually arrived in Spain to view, our top 4 favourite properties were immediately removed from our list from various reasons. Very busy road, huge cracks in walls, legal dispute between neighbours (we were lucky to find out about that one), having to walk out of the urb and down the street to use the "communal" pool etc etc. None of this apparent from online info.

I would never buy without actually viewing.

Hi,

I agree with all the others, never purchase without seeing the property and area, etc.

When we came over 17 years ago we rented for 6 months in El Chapparal then bought just down the road in La Siesta where we have been since. Maybe you could rent first to see if you like the area. As we live in the area feel free to PM me with any questions:)

Also, at the moment the prices of property are going down. Advise waiting until you can come and see them. And if you want to live here you have to go through the Spanish Embassy first.
