Has anyone else been bitten in the sea by fish, I was in the sea today on the Los locas beach and standing in the water about waste high I felt a nip on my shin, and quickly got out to a shallow part of water to look and blood was running down my leg, I'm not impressed with this, has anyone else come across this

I had on several occasions feet nibbled by fish on beaches north of Torrevieja. I couldn't see the fish, but it didn't bite through my skin. Pez golfar is one of culprits, which can deliver a nasty bites and is not uncommon in Costa Blanca. I would suspect, your bite was delivered by some small predator fish hunting in shallow water.

Obviously, the fish was not impressed either, as it left a lot!

Hello

Why were you not impressed?  The sea is their home, they belong there & you had invaded their space ...ha!

If it gets painful or starts swelling get to a Doctor pronto. Can't be too careful with all the bacteria in the water, is your tetanus up to date?
