Our oven, which hardly looks used, and worked fine when we moved in, blows a fuse whenever we turn it on. The stove top works fine. Any ideas of what could be the problem?

Most probably the heating unit has a shortcut and needs to be replaced. Costs les than 10 euros and is easy with basic DIY practice. A "specialist" will probably tell you that buying a new oven is cheaper.

Can we hire you?

Hi,

We had a similar problem with our oven tripping the fuse box, the electrician said that as the oven hadn’t been used for a number of months, condensation was the cause for it to trip.

It was sorted in less than a hour by removing the earth from the fuse box and switching the oven on to dry it out.

Do you have details of your electrician as we have the same problem but my Spanish is not good enough trying to speak with the edesa service agent. We are in Torreta II.

He is English so you won’t have any problem with the language lol, had his own business here in Spain for over 10 years.

We had a similar problem when we moved in nearly four years ago.  Turned out we’re only allowed 3.5 kw overall and the oven alone was a higher power, hence the tripping.
