Whether you rent or own it doesn’t make any difference, you pay your taxes in Spain.
The only exception to that rule is if you are in receipt of a government issued private (not state) pension, that is taxed at source but is still declared on your Spanish tax return.
So once you have been resident in Spain for longer than 182 days in the tax year, you will need to complete a tax return and pay your tax.
It is recommended to consult a tax advisor as you will need to complete a list of worldwide assets at the same time as your first tax return.
