Weather
Hola
I am wondering sometimes the weather is extremley hot, how do you cope with it? What do you do to stay cool And do you get use to the heat and climate?

I agree entirely with Pete. Provided you've got some means of cooling down, then it's quite easy to cope with.
Keeping warm in winter is more of a problem!

Why is that then?

Because many houses are built with single skin walls, little insulation and little heating, much like a UK garage, and once that beautiful sun goes down, so does the temperature. Damp is also an issue.

.....I don't think I will ever adjust to the summer heat - you just do as others have said keep shutters closed down against the sun, do everything early and read a lot!
I just see the summer overly hot days as opposite to having to sit indoors in the winter with heating on looking at grey skies outside.
We sit inside with aircon on looking at beautiful blue skies outside. No contest.

Keeping cool in summer is just a matter of staying indoors and turning the aircon on, or dunking in the pool,
Keeping warm in winter, in a house without cavity walls, let alone cavity wall insulation, and with single glazing, requires at the least running the aircon on heating. When it's cold, it means using our log fire. This entails a degree of effort, and isn't just a matter of flicking a switch.

and don't forget plenty of rugs! Plus probably our best purchase for the winter has been heated towel rails for the bathrooms - makes such a difference!
