Hi Forum, my wife and I are moving out to La Zenia (near the boulevard) next week to retire. We have bought a place but need to furnish it and we’re looking for some recommendations where we can buy a suite and bed frames/mattresses. Looking a mid range stuff as a price point. Thank you in advance 😀

We have found New2you the best place to purchase everything.

They even do part exchange,so always plenty of choice, and classy items.

The properties in Spain are smaller and more compact than we are all used to. DONT rush into buying until you’ve studied your rooms, measured them and know exactly what you’ll actually fit into them.
lounges tend to be long and narrow. Look for an L SHAPED settee. This will fit and look better than the traditional 3 piece suite.
I replaced our lounge suite last year and did the rounds in all the big furniture shops in Torrevieja. The shop I favoured is MAHOR studios located at the traffic lights going into town from the Avenue de Valenciana. It’s on the corner and carries very up to date furniture. Stunning shop.  DO NOT FORGET TO ASK FOR DISCOUNT.  You’ll get it for sure.

Buy good quality beds if you plan to keep your property for years. We all deserve a good nights sleep and a quality bed is vital.

Bedding. Zara Home. Sale  starts soon.  Quality.  Towels, sheets, pillows etc.,

Beds. You can buy either 6’3” or 6’6” lengthin single and double beds which isn’t an option in the UK.  GO FOR A GOOD KING SIZE. Make certain ( if there are stairs) that the delivery people will be able to get large pieces of furniture up them.

Put your tv onto the wall to save space.

Buy decent cutlery and a Joseph Joseph can opener ( carry with you from home). Very best can opener we’ve ever had.

Look for a little wastebin to attach to the inside door below sink. ( so little floor space) I brought one out in my luggage.

I use a BRABANTIA retractable clothes line ( brought from home) marvellous and retracts after use saving it from the ruthless sun and also is no longer visible when not in use.

You can buy so much stuff in Torrevieja but if you are fussy you might like to bring some lovely mugs with you too!  I bought seaside mugs from M&S. No chips or cracks, still perfect.

Don’t be tempted to buy something cheap “ to make do”. But what you love and you’ll never regret it.

May I wish you many, many years of joy in your new dream home.

Happy Christmas

Grannyrose.

PS. You can send a huge suitcase to Spain using SEND MY BAG.  32 kgs. I use them and the service is excellent ( DHS)

PPS. IKEA is great for bedroom furniture and kitchen items, curtains and bedding. Murcua

Hi, I have 2 single Pikolin Finremaster bed frames for sale. They are new and have lumbar support. If you search for them on Amazon, they are on there for sale at 200€ each. I am asking 100€ for the 2 of them. If you are interested just send me a message, thank you.
