URGENT!! Where to buy quality smoke alarms/ carbon monoxide detectors? Are landlords required to provide by law in rental properties?

Hi

Landlords are not required to provide these by law. It’s up to the tenant if in rental property

If you have a holiday let then it is stipulated in your registration that you need smoke alarms.  DIY stores sell them as do independent hardware stores.

Thank you all for your very helpful replies.  I will investigate the options outlined for a long-term solution.  In the meantime I need a smoke alarm / carbon monoxide detector that I can source locally rather than waiting for something to arrive from abroad, especially with slow Christmas delivery.  Would anyone be able to recommend specific shops or places I could source near Torrevieja?  Would Carrefour do these?  I know that there have been some fake smoke alarms circulating (in the UK anyhow) so would like to obtain from a reliable source.

Many thanks.

Leroy Merlin in Zenia Boulevard have smoke alarms and independent ferriterias (good one in La Florida) and other DIY stores sell them too.  Could also try AKA near Carrefour in the Habeneras Centre in Torrevieja.

Note

If you have to comply with EU standard it changed a few years ago to recccomendations that all habital rooms should have detection in them. That was a change from the old each level and high risk area.

I could be wrong but that means all rooms should have detection. It won’t cost a lot , also if you have open plan kitchen and a heat detector  there is a fair delay between detection and activation, so I would put a heat detector in the corridor near your bedr
