I would like to know what the Spanish police are doing about organised crime such as this. Not much being done for years now. They don't seem interested when you report crimes. That's been my experience Anyway.

Unfortunately I had similar problems. Was advised to attend police station in San Miguel and was told to go to Guardia in High Street. I spoke to say why I was there through the intercom and woman police officer pointed to letter in window which said, next to British Flag, that they speak no English so bring an interpreter. I was going home next day so had to forget it. Fortunately committee on estate reported it and requested more vigilance.

In Orihuela Costa for our size of population we should have at least 40 police officers, we have less than half that number.

I’ve no doubt it’s the same gang we all need to be vigilant- hopefully they will move on

Yes Spain unfortunately have organised criminal's operating in every area and police really don't want to know, therefor people just stop trying to report it because they know no follow up or investigations will be done. Not sure why, my guess would be that it would show the real statistics on criminal activity in those areas and the effects this would have on tourism in the future. Please all who have been subject to crimes or attempted crimes on you or your property, please insist on reporting. You can use your phone to translate if your Spanish is limited as the phone translate works well ENOUGH to make a repot, although they should arrange a further appointment and arrange for a translate to attend. KEEP REPORTING!!

Definitely, no good complaining when a crime is not reported, personally I think the police are lazy, not just in Spain but also the UK.Ensure you are eligible to vote in the local elections in May 2023, your vote really does count, nothing will change unless we vote for it.

This is a good point TP20.

Also if you want to claim off your insurance you will need to produce a report from the Guardia Civil.

Please don't leave your bags on show in a car, and don't put them on the shelf of the trolley when at the supermarket.
