Bank charges ??

It's a charge for the maintenance of the account as a non-resident. Nearly all Spanish banks hammer non-residents.

Cheryl is absolutely correct. You will probably get that amount taken on a quarterly basis. 

A lot of forum members are closing Spanish bank accounts and opening a Internet banking account. Many suggest using "Wise" Internet banking. I have been with Wise for years to transfer money from the UK to my Sabadell account in Spain. 

Many users pay all their Spanish direct debits through Wise.

I pay a charge to Bankinter on a quarterly but this is different ! Haven’t had this one in the 2 years I’ve been with them ?

Even as a full resident, and I've been with Sabadell for 8 years, I still get charged a quarterly amount of €15.

Adding up to €60 per annum which I'm happy to pay as I've had good service and an excellent app where I can do all my monetary business with ease.

This could be the charge for the certificate of non residence, it is paid every two years.

I currently pay 60 euros a year , 30 every 6 months but this is a different charge and one I haven’t been debited before !

It’s the first time this payment has been taken since having the account so makes sense .

Was concerned this was taken without my say so but presume the bank takes this through their services etc

Yes the non res cert has to be in place for your account to operate.

Open up a Wise Bank online, most things apply,DDs etc avoid spanish banks if you can , they will rob you blind!!
