I already have a Sabadell/Solbank account.  Which I am told by Sabadell/Solbank is the best I can get unless I have residentia.   However this is not possible within  the short term  (5 yrs).  My wife and I are both retired but we have family who we want to be with and they want to be with us.   I am only looking to nullify the charges levied and wonder if there is a bank offering better.

Hi there having looked at this question on many previous posts and some ofg the great advice I like many on this forum moved from Sabadell to Wise. I was able to do this online and also set up my DDs. I am saving over 200 euros per year not a bad return for a little effort.

Best regards Binz

Definitely wise for me. So easy and 1 of the best exchange rates you will get. Only slight down side is a maximum 200€ / month cash withdrawal without charges. Charges after that are minimal. Not much of an issue for me in this contactless world we now live in!

I have recommended Cajamar on numerous occassions. They have an online account called wefferrent which is available to non residents, although you have to open in branch not online. It took 3 weeks of research to eliminate all other banks and since March 2019 haven't paid a cent in fees. Didn't like Wise,s cash limitation, others had too many conditions so I suggest you do your own research, visit website and look for a bank that gives you everything you want.

Hi There,

We are UK residents and currently have a Sabadell account paying 40 euros a quarter.  Whilst the service is fine its a charge I would prefer not to have to pay.  We use Wise for transfers, how easy is it really to transfer direct debits?  I have put off swapping over just in case it becomes too difficult and we end up having to go into places to sort it out,  is it really easy to do online?!

Thanks Julie

Hi Julie I was able to do it and I am by no means savvy in that respect. It did take a bit of time and going round the house a few times. The best advice I can give you is to sit down and if you can print off each bill individually get all the details and contact numbers write it all down and one by one call the appropriate number and just persevere until you get to the best person to help yoi. It really is not major if you set aside the time and make the effort.

Best of luck and let us know how you grt on 👍

I did mine by email and using Google translate, had no problems, all replied with confirmations. I chose closest date after payment to allow change to happen for following month

According to the Cajamar Website, you must be resident. As soon as you start the process of registration you are advised it is for Spanish residents.  This was what I was told also when I called into them earlier last year.
