Hi folks. We have just arrived in Los dolses and have a long term rental here. The townhouse already has wi fi however it appears the signal isn't that strong as we are struggling to add devices in different parts of the townhouse. Apart from having routers put in other parts of the house( which we'd need to get permission to do) any suggestions how to overcome this problem? Are wi fi boosters any good? Any advice would be appreciated.

The wifi booster is not magic - the only thing it can do is forward an existing signal. Therefore, if the signal is weak, the booster is not going to do much.
Therefore, I would recommend buying a good quality wifi router with Wifi 6 certification and connecting the existing one (which may also work as a modem and, therefore, you cannot remove it) to this new router via UTP cable.

Main problem is that channels in the common 2,4 GHz Band are overcrowded resulting in frequent interruption of signal flow. Most boosters available in shops are of low output (1W), better look for 2 or even 4W output. Your router should support apart from, 2,4 GHz also the G4 or the actual unbeatable 5G Band.
