Hi, we are looking at purchasing in Villamartin.
Could anybody tell me if there is a good bus link? Does it pick up from all over villamartin or just one area?

Hi
I have bought in villamartin near Morgan’s pub and we don’t drive and it is a pain. The buses only run on Saturdays and sundays in July and August so just the basics of getting to and from supermarket are a nuisance. If you are closer to mercadona then it’s not too bad but try walking to local bars etc before you buy-I love the area and we are walkers so it doesn’t hinder us but walking in 35degree heat from bus to house etc makes you think twice lol

Hello,
If you consider buying in Villamartin I would suggest that you pick up a bus timetable at the Information desk in La Zenia Boulevard. There is just the one bus going round Villamartin. It is the Blue line which will take you to the doctors in Cabo Roig. The Red line will take you to Torrevieja Hospital from the Boulevard, where both buses meet, so you can change there. The only way to decide is to ride the bus. Apart from July and August, it comes every one and a half hours with a longer break at lunchtime. For the weekly food shop a car or taxi is a must. Most of the roads in the Orihuela Costa have an incline which make walking quite tiring. Having said all that, I soon got used to it, but after a year I bought a car! I live in Playa Flamenca which has more facilities within an easy walking distance. La Zenia Bouevard, Town Hall, Beach, Police Station are all here. Villamartin can be very pretty but for an ex townie like me it would not suit. Also in the Villamartin/Los Dolses area there is a lot of building going on. Just take your time and choose a home in an area that will suit your lifestyle. It is great living here, and I would not wish to return to the UK for all the tea in China! Good luck.

@PeteKnight I see that timetable is dated from 2010, has it not improved/been updated since then - thanks

As I mentioned before, the timetables available at The Boukevard give you the times for each bus stop.

Thank you all for your messages.
We viewed loads of properties and decided in the end to go with Villamartin as we get more property for our money.

We are in Entre Golf.
Both of us drive so not really an issue.

Hi,
I am buying a place in Playa Flamenca - Calle Lamen - can you let me know if I can walk to La Xenia Boulevard and the directions how I get there by foot, as we like to walk..
Many thanks
