In the past few days Covid restrictions have been notably flexibilized, though everyone applies this in his particular way.

You have to fill a Spanish locator form on line.

If flying from UK, you won’t even be allowed on the plane if you haven’t filled in a Spanish locator form

Hi,

the checks are done before you travel, you have to fill in and submit the Spanish health form up to 48 hours before travelling then the completed form with QR code and your vaccination certificate are examined at the check-in desk before flying.

On arrival in Alicante they look at the the completed Spanish health form/QR code. They may check your vaccination certificate as well. This is done in the arrivals hall after passport control.

The full travel rules are on the Gov UK website, note what is needed to be considered fully vaccinated.

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain/entry-requirements

We had no problems in getting through Alicante airport last month, very simple. The checks there have been the same the last few times we visited.

Aitch.

Good summary from Aitch, this is exactly the process on my recent visits, they always check the spanish health form but sporadically check my proof of vaccine documents.

Hi, we just got back to the UK last night, when we arrived in alicante they need to see proof of vaccination and Spanish locator form, on departure from alicante passport stamped this time and UK locater form when we arrived in Exeter.

All your documents are checked in the departing U.K. airport. You need to show your Spanish passenger locator form and evidence of vaccinations. You’re last vaccine needs to have been within the last 270 days if not you will not be able to fly.

On arrival at Alicante you will need to produce your Passport, someone will check you passenger locator form and then there are desks where they will want to scan the QR code of proof of vaccinations. It’s all a very simple process as long as everything is correct.
