I have heard that there is a change of plan the hospital will only be doing 1st and 2nd vaccinations on 22nd and 23rd not Boosters.

Seems the authorities are opening 42 MVC's and we will be called for our boosters in the same way as our 1st and 2nd vaccinations allegedly. Has anyone else heard this or is it fake news?

Maybe this is because the EU Commission has announced that the EU's Covid 19 vaccination certificates will only be valid for 9 months without a booster dose. The new rules will apply from Feb 1st 2022 vaccine passports will also record booster doses so if you have had 2 shots it will be shown as 3/3 doses of single vaccine shown as 2/1.

Yes, just seen this - now the latest on Twitter from GVAdaTorrevieja (Dept Health Torrevieja)  is "Para dosis adicionales o de recuerdo, se citará mediante SMS o llamada telefónica"  saying that for the booster they will send an SMS or call by telephone.

My friend had this message from the authorities when she questioned it.

Tiene dos opciones en este momento:

- sin cita en Torrevieja el 22 o el 23

- esperar a la cita por SMS o llamada telefónica.

2 options ....go to walk in clinic or wait for text.........

Glad we have already had ours!

Good luck to all.

There isn’t a choice if you want a booster. You have to wait to get the call or text.

The new advert for the walk in  at the hospital, states it’s only for 1st or 2nd jabs.

They changed the rules during the day, following the announcement  made by the EU reducing  the validity of the EUDCC to 9 months from last jab. This comes into effect 1st Feb which in turn means that in some areas (ie Cabo Roig) people would have certificates out of date before they can get  a booster appointment. They have now decided that boosters will be administered in the same way as the first and second jabs, by reopening vaccination centres. Appointments will be sent by text or phone call.

Just to confirm.....Boosters are being given today and tomorrow at Torrevieja hospital.

Friends just got theirs, and the flu jab too.

Good news!!

The change seems to be, if want to wait for appointment will get a text rather than having to go queue up for appointment

Just typical Spanish confusion then!!!

Did your friends say how big the queue was?

Must admit that  I toyed with the idea of going even though I have an appointment in January.

But it’s too close to Christmas and I’m too scared of having a reaction and not being able to enjoy  all the lovely food I’ve got in for Christmas. I’ll just stay safe instead.

Maybe if they have one next week I’ll think about it.

I can see hospital from our roof terrace.

Queue at 8.30 wasn't bad at all.....has grown now

It's all day today and tomorrow for any who want to go.

My husband had no reaction at all.

My arm ached next day and unwell a week later but who knows what that was.... wasn't covid!

I did wonder and thought it might be worth going but didn't.  It's ridiculous how the Valencian Salud is giving out difference information from the Torrevieja Salud but I'm not really suprised.
