I hope you and yours remain safe and well throughout these extraordinary times.  Provided flights not cancelled due to arrive in Alicante on 27 March.  Being in lockdown is not an issue as long as can get provisions for my stay quite happy to stay at my accommodation as planned to be there to do some work anyway.  What I need to know is if the car hire firms at Alicante airport are fully operational.  Any info gratefully received.

Cheers.

My husband has flown to Alicante this morning from the UK with Easyjet, there were only 36 people on the plane and he said the airport is empty but there's a queue at the car hire desk.

I'm flying with a carrier that has not yet cancelled my flights so if I can get to Alicante and car hire is open I think I will go unless everything drastically worsens or I have symptoms of cv  I have a lot planned to do to the flat on this trip and dont really want to have to put it off unless I absolutely have to.  Keeping up to date on the FCO website which hasn't prohibited travel to Spain yet.

The entire World with exception of perhaps UK government considers it NOT OKAY to travel anywhere unless ESSENTIAL.

Read something from other World leaders today.   Airlines will close.

I will have EHIC cover anyway but will play it by ear.  Thus far no notice of cancellation from Ryanair but have to agree to the likelihood of cancellation 🙁

Truthfully EHIC cover is the least of our problems.

Doctors with access to best medical care have died.  Nobody looked at their health insurance cover. It couldn't save them.

People need to stay put in order to protect the most vulnerable if that isn't ourselves.

Very disappointing though I agree.

Stay well

Roz hi, I am sure you wont have a problem getting a taxi from the Airport. Have a safe trip. Best regards, Steve
