THERESA May earned more than £160,000 by doing nothing after the coronavirus lockdown forced the cancellation of two public speeches she was due to make. The former prime minister was paid upfront after she was hired to address an audience at private bank JP Morgan Chase in the City of London.

Yes, that’s how it works.... Now buT she never earned anything like that when she was the Prime Minister. The same goes for all the past PM’s always has been a big money earner. That’s the bonus fir taking on that task.

True, but good money for nothing much.
She made £400,000 from private speaking engagements in 2019.
But that still put her behind predecessor David Cameron who raked in more than £800,000 over the same period.
Former Labour PM Tony Blair earns around £200,000 per engagement.
