Wow so you drove all the way , my hubby wanted to do this.

Sue how long did it take driving from getting off the euro .....cheers and thanks

It took us 24 hours with plenty of toilet and fuel stops -we took our own food and drink -one of us stayed in the car at night at all times -no problems. Our place is 1 hour south of Alicante-you just to time your Eurotunnel booking if you want to drive through France at night -all good throughly recommend

No straight off the shuttle onto motorway only 30 minutes through the tunnel and away you go.......

You pay tolls at the barriers you cant avoid them unless you take the non motorway route but your better paying the tolls it will save you 2-3 hours a day.

Yes all agreed -recommend you buy tags for motorway tolls -saves handling money especially at night

That’s fine aspen -but we have a right hand drive car and the machines are on the left -something to consider...that’s why we used tags barrier goes up auto

Valid point if only 1 person in car but there was myself and the wife so wasn't an issue, I guess the benefit with tag is barrier will lift as you approach we have to pay first, it depends on cost of tag which I havent looked into if I am honest.

We have just driven through France from U.K. into Spain, arrived here Monday. No problems at all and no forms filled in. We stopped for 2 overnights in France, Cognac and Pau, then drove down to Teruel for another overnight stay. Felt very safe, everyone wearing a mask. We even had a walk around different places as we made a mini holiday out of it.

Hi can you help me please..,

We need to see to our holiday home in La Finca Algorfa., we are planning to drive and stop over for 1 night in France , never done it before so new to us, what’s the best route and anyone can recommend we’re to stay overnight .. any forms we need to fill out , after euro tunnel a road fee ?? ...

...Thanks to anyone that can advise cheers

Depends which route down France you wish to take. I always use route involving A10 past Bordeaux on A63 then to San Sebastian and Pamplona Zaragossa Valencia.

Recommend using ACE hotel at Bordeaux Cestas on A63. Just south of Bordeaux, bedroom great, cost c Euro 50 food OK in adjacent service station restaurant. Hotel is about half way on journey so good for 1 overnight on trip
