We have been coming to villamartin each month to our apartment since December 2022 and usually use Wiber car hire at Alicante airport with no problems at all, we have purchased our own full cover insurance for £42 which saves a fortune as it means the 12 times we have hired it’s saved about £1000, our last hire was with a company through doyouspain, they featured a company called WHEEGO, never again, the collection through Steve was great, we arrived 8pm this January so it was dark, we were given evidence of existing marks on the vehicle, however, on our return, the Spanish jobsworth claimed we had damaged the rear on both sides, we asked where and took photos to prove it was merely a light dust stain which wiped off, he was trying it on as we had not taken the full cover, an extra €95 or there about, it’s just a warning about that company, WIBER are who we are using in March and onwards.

Couple of things to note. First is when you arrive at the desk & don’t take a hire companies own damage insurance they will place a deposit/block on your credit card. Your own policy only covers you & not the company or the car so they need that deposit which can be from €1000 upwards depending on car size.
They do this to cover themselves for any damage they reckon you might have done whether spurious or not. With the more unscrupulous firms it can indeed be spurious as in your case.
It’s then your own policy should kick in & get you your money back.
DYKS are like any other 3rd party agency & you’re on your own when you reach the desk.
We’ve used Wiber a couple of times since Covid & have had no problems with them either.

Appreciate your uneducated comment, my comment was a fact. We have never had a problem with Wiber. Stick to your music

All I said was they are all the same, that's my experience, yours may be different, why don't you do a survey of what people think of hire companies then we might see how stupid and useless my comment is!

If you would like a survey feel free to request one, I was commenting on my experience over the last 13 car hires

Thank you Kenneth1, it's so easy to be personal and rude on this forum, I wish you all the best with your car hire experiences!

Michael154, you are getting mixed up. Kenneth1’s comment was aimed at Brendenmusicmans comment “they are all the same” not your original post! He was actually agreeing with you that there are some good companies out there.
