Unfortunately there is no easy way. If you want a Spanish driving licence then you have to go through the Spanish driving test.

According to today's Costa Blanca People newspaper, ALL UK driving licences will cease to be 'legal' in Spain from June 31 2021.

It will NOT be possible to drive your vehicle on Spanish highways after this date.

Should you be in this situation, PLEASE seek legal advice from a reputable lawyer/agent so save yourselves a great deal of problems.

the UK and Spanish authorities are still in talks over the future exchange of UK driving licences without the need for a practical test with the Spanish authorities.

Is anyone else having issues in exchanging U.K. driving license for a Spanish license before end of June when I understand it has to be done. I started process before Christmas, had medical slight delay getting certificate of entitlement from DVLA they are having an industrial dispute eventual had confirmation that they have sent two copies of what used to be your paper part. The same as the one you can download from their website. Now even using a Hester a can’t get through to elche traffic office to complete the process and suggestions?

Sorry but this is incorrect, the exchange of Uk licences has just been extended to 31st October. Hopefully all residents by then will have Spanish licences. Non residents are OK to drive UK or Spanish cars on UK licence.

An update to previous post, the extension to October 31st for driving licence exchange is conditional to having been resident in Spain before Dec 2020 and applied for driving licence exchange by that date. For residents(or applicants still awaiting residency) since January 1st the extension is not applicable and June 31st still applies.

As a temporary measure, your valid UK driving licence will be recognised for driving in Spain until 31 October 2021.

This also applies to you if you were resident in Spain before 1 January 2021 but did not obtain your residence document (TIE or Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero) until after this date.

If you wish to exchange your UK licence for a Spanish one, the process to follow depends on whether you registered your details and intention to exchange with the Spanish Traffic Authority (DGT) before 30 December 2020.

Just read on www. Gov.co.uk web site, you can drive in Spain up 6 months on a UK License.
