Car hire ...be very carefull there , Dickmans , and a few others , take a 1000€ deposit BUT hold onto that money for 6 weeks ,and will give you all sorts of excuses , it’s the banks fault , not ours etc , and keep your dinero for as long as they can .

I know this cos I hired a car and needed to keep it for another week longer , they in turn renewed my contract , AND took another 1000€ ,it took me 8 weeks to get 2000€ refunded ...avoid like the plaque ! ...

...

Others take 1000€ but refund immediately when returning the car in good condition

Take care

Cheers pal

We used a £99 long weekend first time, no hard sell and they spent a lot of time showing us the area  & shops health centre etc. Second time we booked a motel, and emailed 3 estate agents and they picked us up, they all worked together to find what we wanted.just stick to your guns and know what you want.

I'm off out to the Algorfa area on Friday morning returning Monday.

2x flights = £112

car hire including super cover and mega cover, I kid you not though escapes the CC deposit = £58

Bungalow on la finca 3 nights = £210

Should you move to Spain before Brexit? Who knows but surely depends on how much money/ pension you have given likely post Brexit treatment of Brits as per Jims guides :)

Just realised the OP put the question Dec 2018 not 2019 - oops :) though in reality not much has changed.

Hi , I just transferred money through transferwise ,an hour ago ... The pound is actually very strong for some reason or another ...I got €1.17 to the pound ,,, that’s excellent ...it will drop again , and remember even if it’s only by a few cents ...take into consideration , the amount you are paying for a house , and you ll realise those few cents make a hell of a difference , ...When Brexit first cropped up its ugly head , We panicked as the pound was dropping daily , and we changed our mo eh for euros ...We got €1.08 to the pound and it made about 800 € of a difference .,,OUCH ... especially as it went back up 4 cents shortly after ,...so do the maths !
