Hi Mary,

Sorry to hear this - I remember Ryanair doing something similar when the Spanish lockdown was first lifted.

Just a thought, but if Spain maintains its policy of only allowing Spanish nationals and foreign nationals who are Spanish residents to return to Spain, it may prove uneconomic for Ryanair to operate the flight.  If I remember correctly, you have to give Ryanair a minimum of 7 days' notice to switch flights free of charge - as you're already beyond that period, perhaps you could sit it out until Christmas Eve on the basis that, if Ryanair are likely to cancel the flight, they would do so before Christmas Day?  If they don't, you're still going to have to pay to change, but if they cancel, you can re-book for free.

Kind regards,

Kim

So Ryanair say no!

Hi  I actually had the flights from London Gatwick to Alicante but changed them Alicante to Dublin. They lady from Customer Services did it all on line for me.  If you are not sure how the Chatbot works, you go on line ask it a question, it sends an answer which you say you are not happ...

...y with and one of the options come up to say would you like to speak to an Agent, click on yes, you may have to hold but you are in a queue, don't leave the site or you will have to start all over again, also you need to reply to them immediately, if they don't get a reply within 2 minutes they think you have decided not to hold, today I was lucky as I only had to wait for around 10 mins.

Hi  Did you try their chatbot and click to speak to an Advisor, they are very helpful when you get through  Gillian

Hi  If you go onto their Chatbot and speak to a Customer Sevice Agent they will move them free of charge to a date upto 15 March the only extra if the flights you are changing to are more expensive.  My luggage was also moved with the booking.  Maybe worth a try.  Good luck  Gillian

Hi again!! Just found this on Ryanair web page surely this would apply to your flights too.

Cancellation Notice: For All Flights To/From The UK Between Dec 20th/Jan 3rd23 Dec 2020 • 16:32

Ryanair is processing cancellations for all flights to/from the UK between Dec 20th/Jan 3rd that have been banned by EU Govts regulation. All affected customers will receive an  email notification and they will be offered practical alternatives including a free move or refund if they so wish.

A small number of flights will operate to/from the UK from Dec 23rd to Jan 3rd primarily to facilitate UK passengers stranded abroad and to support passengers who need to travel for essential reasons. For passengers (booked on these operating flights) who do not wish to travel prior to Jan 3rd, Ryanair will facilitate a flight change, where no change fee will apply (any difference in fare will be charged), to any new date up to March 15th 2021. Any passenger whose flight has been cancelled can also move to these operating flights, subject to availability.

As I said I found it easier to speak to Customer Services as they make the change there and then with no charges except for increase in flights for new dates, if any-  Have you tried to change them to a date before 15 March?  I have  Lost so much money to Ryanair for flights this year hate to give them anymore.  Maybe try again quoting above.  I hope you have success as a lot to lose and a lot to pay out too!!!! for a service you have already paid for Gillian

Hi  I didn't telephone I went onto their chat bot which can be found in their contact menu, click on it and it will ask you your details and  what is your question, it will answer and ask you if this has helped and you answer NO, then a list of options come up and at the bottom it will give you the option to speak to a Customer Adviser, click on that, you will then be in a queue, it is not obvious you are waiting but it should say not to leave the page as you will have to start over again, you need to stay on the page until they respond and then you just let them know what you want to do with your flights.  Sounds complicated but it really is easy to do.  I waited about 10 minutes but they do eventually reply.  Please let me know if you need any other help and if they have eventually got you sorted with no 90 pound fees.
