A neighbour needs a tall palm tree cut down and taken away. Any recommendations please, for somebody to do this? Payment by cash

Palm trees benefiot from environmental protection and cannot be cut down w/o proper permit. Heavy fines apply.

You  might  need to contact  Council about  this  matter.  I  understand  that will  pull it out  of ground  if  possible  and replant  it. Do not  just chop it down. I  think it  illegal.  From memory  I  think  Council  charge  around 400 euros.  Cheaper  to take legal  route

Thanks for the great advice. I think he will be better off having the over- heavy and dead top trimmed. At the moment, in these winds, there is an imminent danger of it breaking and falling across three adjacent properties.

One other neighbour just called in a tree surgeon, and had cut right down, just leaving the trunk protruding about I metre in height...no denunciation.

Sadly, the tree appears to be dead.
