Hi all. Am picking up family from Alicante airport next week and not done this before. Can I stop outside the Costa coffe stand and if so what level is that for both me driving in and my passengers for meeting me there?

If I can't do that what is the best way please? Many thanks for any advice.

Go in the car park , charges are very reasonable [ cheaper than overrunning the 15 mins you are allowed on the drop off ramp ] .

Also as it is peak time and aircraft are arriving ahead ahead or late for there slots there is often a long delay as baggage is unloaded up to the   belts and can delay your pick up for up to 20/30 mins , the drop off ramps at the moment are horrendous, with very little space to park ..!!

Hello Tony how are you.

Yes you can pick up at Costa Coffee on the top level; this is the departure entrance, so your passengers will need to know they have to go up one level from arrivals to departures. You get about 10 mins free parking time and can be expensive after that about €5 an hour. It’s what I do, arrive about 30 mins after landing.

Good luck.

The correct information is that the Departure Drop Off Zone is up two levels from Arrivals and you get 15 minutes free.

Hi Tony, if you do intend to ' Pick up / Drop off ' directly outside the Terminal building you need to keep to the right when entering the Airport and follow the 'departures / Salidas  overhead signage, this route eventually takes you up a steep slope leading to the short stay parking area where you take a ticket at the barrier and present the ticket at the exit barrier at the other end of the parking area.

Can I ask other members the procedure if the 15 mins max waiting time is exceeded, I.e. will the barrier refuse to lift when the ticket is presented ( which would  be fun and games if other cars had lined up behind you ),, and if so where, and on what level, do you go to within the Airport building to pay the excess,or is vehicle recognition in use and a fine issued by post etc.

Thank

LeckyLes
