Well that beats my personal best......I had a car for 2 weeks for €12.83 which was full to full and on airport.

Worrying sometimes with all the bad press.

Goldcar were on the TV about their bad practices. Think I've been fortunate over the years. I've just returned one for €16 for a week with RecordGo and they were fab. I only use them for a taxi to my home as it's cheaper. I use my own car then. When it comes to the time I will just leave my car at the airport for about €250 per annum.

I thought I'd got a good deal with goldcar at €12 for a week, €2.83 is amazing! Used to use easycar which are cheap any way but thought I'd go direct and it was even cheaper. I've used them and firefly and haven't paid for extra insurance. They all ask for €1,000+ deposit which is a bit scary but never had any problems and if the cars already got scratches they have less proof it was you. As mentioned already check the car in the light. My last car was covered in dirty rain marks after the recent bad weather which could've hidden lots of marks but it was fine and they didn't check it at all when I gave it back. The only danger is that the roads are pretty bad and you could get stone chips but they allow for fair wear and tear

I wonder how these companies can make any money if you pay so little for car hire. Perhaps it’s the people who pay for scratches that they didn’t do and I am sure there are lots.🤔

They don't seem to push the extra insurance so i guess they hope people will scratch them and lose their deposit. Getting out of the airport carpark at Alicante is really tight and you can see loads of marks on the walls ...
