Motorhome on Spanish plates

Just got the quote to put our motorhome on Spanish plates €17000, how stupid, will be selling it.

Thats expensive, how old is the van does it have a Certificate of Conformity, , I imported one from Germany a few years ago cost about€3500, took it for its mechanical inspection and then ITV myself and my Spanish is very limited, just got someone to do the paperwork for the tax. Etc.

Should be possible for less than half of what you are quoted, but only of you can provide a COC from the manufacturer, otherwise better forget it. Some changes in front and rear lights as well as gas installation need to be altered to meet Spanish standards. Exemption from Inmport taxes apply if yo are within 6 months limit from date of obtaining residency. Resgistration tax depends on pollution, road tax depends on engine and council. Ask at any ITV for a qualified gas engineer for the necessary certificate. Any more questions? RHD is no problem as far as I know.

Thank you even with COC half that is to expensive, I’ll sell it the uk bring down the € 51000 and see what I’ll get here might have to had a bit.

75% is taxes rest setting up fee

Really depends on the value of the motorhome as to whether or not the vehicle must pass through customs or not. If you are to pass customs, you will pay IVA AND DUTY. There are ways to avoid this but it depends on your documentation......

I put in 5 agents hands the best was 9500€ up to 17000€.
9500 was because he reduced the van by 20,000.
