Spain bans setting the AC below 27 degrees Celsius

A good idea to save energy but it would be impossible to police the use if it was extended to private households.

As Tebo53 said, good luck policing that. Although i have a sneaky suspicion that this it what the smart meter is really for going into the future. 

27C won't even take the edge off in most places IMO.

And all to save energy? Why do we need to do that? Maybe, the need has arisen because of the self inflicted wound caused by various Governments (including Spain) popularising the use of electric cars, and electric scooters.

I think this will get some resistance. 

We need to do this because people are needlessly scared of nuclear energy + because of big oil lobbying which prevents research and development of gen 4 reactors. Nuclear power is the future, it is the perfect and clean solution.

The move to e-mobility is only a piece of the puzzle.

27c is perfectly fine by me day or night, it's the lowest we ever need to go.

Typically (and right now in fact) we're sitting very comfortably at 28c.

 The Torrevieja bus fleet are already doing their bit it seems.....Been on 6 buses in 2 days & little or no aircon on any of them   Situation not helped by some nationalities,  who don't understand how  air con works  & start opening all the windows when they get on!!    Just got home so  27C will great for me right now.......

As you said,  little or No air con at all on on any of the busses, that might explain why (some nationalities) are opening the windows. Why does it come down to certain nationalities being too thick to understand how Air con works, they are likely just too hot!. With little or no air on on their bus.
