My solicitor/attorney sent my husband's and mine S1 to Torrevieja (social security?)in October. No word from them. We are 70+ young couple with number of the health issue, but without a health help in this country.  However I got a name and a phone number of a person who could help to speed up the S1 process (?): Sophie Johnson. I tried to call her, but received an answer that the number is wrong. Have anybody her number or anybody's else who can help? Thank you

Why not ask your solicitor to make enquiries as no doubt they charged you a fee? This is too long to wait. To be honest it would have been simple to do yourself online and once submitted you would have had a response within 1 week. Did you keep checking your phone for text messages as this is how you are notified and all you do is show the text message to staff in the local health centre who issue the SIP cards there and then.

You could also call into the INSS office in Torrevieja and make enquiries. Reviews online are very positive about staff being helpful.

Thank you very much, its a great help!. We already asked our solicitor and they replied: "as soon as they notify us, we will notify you. You have to wait!"·

Hi, we used Teresa at Adminserve la Zenia 966279603, really helpful, and sorted quickly. Good luck 😊

Not a very satisfactory response. I would call with them again and insist they contact INSS while you are with them explaining that you know of others who received a response within 1 week. Good luck!

Hi Anna,

The number I have for Sophie Johnson is (00 34) 675 367 098.  I find it's better to message her on Whatsapp, as she can't answer her phone if she's with clients, but she'll get back to you once she's free.

Kind regards,

Kim

Thank you very much. I decided to drive to Torrevieja tomorrow and talk with people face to face, and then I'll talk with our solicitor/ attorney!

Thank you again everybody.

Hi Anna,

As I understand it, you can't even get past the security guard on the door at INSS Torrevieja, unless you have an appointment, so I'm sure members will be very grateful to hear feedback of your experience.

Good luck!

Kind regards,
Kim

Your first port of call will be with your solicitor, don’t think anyone else can help as the solicitor will have submitted your S1 , copy padron and TIE so it’s just a question of waiting for the form to be return by email.

The UK have recently been chasing S1  forms which have been issued in the past and have either not been registered or in a number of cases appear not to have been registered. This has led to a huge backlog, hence the lengthy delays.

My gestor submitted mine in October and the acceptance form was emailed back to me, a few days before Christmas. I’d recently qualified for my own S1  and no longer required to piggy back off my husband, so mine was probably an easy application to process.

it then took an hour or longer to re register at my salud, as only one receptionist appeared to know the procedure.

Unfortunately you’ll soon find out that red tape in Spain is not to be rushed!
