Hi folks. Our spanish bank has offered us Home building and contents insurance. Do any of you have any ideas for best way to proceed with this.
Hi Ronnie, as you would back in the UK or any other Country, i.e. get a few quotes c/ w details of extent of cover, then make an informed choice.
You dont state whether you speak Spanish fluently, if not then One other important piece of advice ,I think of importance here, is to pick a Company who have English speaking staff available in an office local to you were you can call into for one to one consultation if any future need so arises

I was offered the same with Sabadell. As they have been incredibly useless, lazy and rude - when they do deign to respond - in dealing with my money for my property purchase, Im staying well clear of them. Ive had some very competitive quotes from UK companies .. in £, which is good for me .. so have simply decided to use one of those. As mentioned in previous post, its only when a claim needed that these companies show their true colours (except Sabadell who have already done so! :-))

My experience, don't use Sabadell for insurance. No problems with the banking side but insurance abysmal.
Try www rastreator.com for comparison

Thanks for this. We are using Sabadel for purchase but will take your advice about everything else.
Please don't take the insurance from the bank, find a local insurance broker/agent that will really help you.

We rent our property and part of the rental cost includes insurance but there's a catch. My wife has a mobility scooter and we want insurance for it. Our car is insured with Liberty and they will only give us insurance for her scooter if we take out a separate house content insurance with them and add her scooter to this new insurance policy in our name and not our landlords. There must be a way around this nonsense and I wonder if anybody knows the answer.
