Hi - I’m am waiting for an appointment at the local police for my green card. Can anyone give me an idea how long it takes for an appointment as my solicitor has informed me the calendar is closed at the moment. Many thanks.

Tammy

Hi Tammy

My wife received her card last year, it took around 10 weeks from submission to completion. My TIE was significantly longer, from June through to mid November, probably a bit of delay with the summer break.

Hi Tammy,

You refer to your "Green card", rather than a TIE, is that because you have an Irish or other EU passport?  If so, you apply for the green registration card at the Policia Nacional - your location is showing as La Zenia, so I would expect your lawyer to be getting you an appointment at Orihuela City police station.  Unlike the immigration office at Alicante, it's much quicker to get a green card from the Policia Nacional, so I'm surprised to hear that "the calendar is closed", unless that's just for Easter week.  I'd suggest following up with your lawyer in a couple of weeks' time.

Kind regards,

Kim

My wife’s was the green card and the agents went through Alicante police station, I had a TIE and was dealt with by Orihuela Police station. It seems to be all down to availability of the appointments and the agents / solicitors can source them more easily. Hopefully it’s much quicker than last year.

On a positive note all the staff that I dealt with at a Orihuela Police Station were very helpful.
