Suma payments
Hi, can anyone advise how I go about paying Suma charges? I purchased property in August, but I don't know how I go about finding out when my Suma payment is due or how to pay it. Thanks

If you bought it in August you don’t need to pay it until next year as the previous owners will be liable for 2020.
It usually has to be paid in September but was put back to November this year.

The SUMA office is located at Playa Flamenca near Mercadona and the Town Hall.
In the new year pop in there with your NIE/passport etc and set up a direct debit in readiness for the 2021 payment in September.
Just in case you were not aware, SUMA is the agency that collects these IBI taxes, it is like the council tax in the UK.

Hi Tourneyman,
As part of the purchase process, it's usual for your abogado (lawyer) to arrange changeover of the utilities to your name, along with direct debits to pay them and your IBI (council tax). I'd suggest just checking with your lawyer, before you arrange anything yourself.
Kind regards,
Kim
