Standing charges query

Hello can someone give an approximation of standing charges and other household bills - council tax equivalent etc please - just out of interest to compare with Uk monthly or yearly charges. For a 2 bed bungalow/villa (no pool) in villamartin.  Any info appreciated thank you

We are non-resident and have a 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment in El Campello with built in heating and aircon as well as natural gas. It has a community pool and common parts are maintained by the community. My annual fixed costs are:

IBI (Council Tax) - €322 (not changed since we bought in 2017)

Basura (rubbish collection) - €77 (not changed since we bought in 2017)

Electricity (Iberdrola). We use a very conservative 2.7kw potentia to keep standing charges low - approx €8 to 9 euros per month (say €100 per annum). Having the potencia at this level means we don't have the oven/hob on at the same time as the heating or aircon - this doesn't cause us a problem. Having a contracted potencia higher than needed is the main cause of excess electricity standing charges.

Gas (Iberdrola): €6 per month standing charge - €72 per annum

Water (Aguas de Alicante): Standing charge €30 per quarter - €120 per annum.

Total annual fixed charges (excluding insurance, non resident taxes etc) is approximately €700 per annum.

We also pay €150 per quarter €600 per annum for the maintenance of the community estate plus about €300 per annum in non-resident tax.

Hi 1969ned,

I was hoping someone with a similar sort of property in your area would be able to respond, but hopefully this will provide a little help.  We don´t have a gas supply, so for a 3-bed, 3-bath, detached house with private pool, occupied by 2 adults and 1 dog, living permanently in Spain:

Monthly Iberdrola electricity bill for August: €106.14 - of which consumption was €80.76, with the balance of €25.38 standing charges. 

Quarterly Hidraqua water bill for May to July: €142.21 - of which consumption was €76.47, sewerage €25.30, standing charges €40.44

-  Council Tax (IBI) for 2022: €359.33 + €70.00 for Rubbish collection (Basura) = €429.33

EDIT:  Good point from TMarshall, our potencia is 5.75kw, hence the higher standing charge for electricity.

Hi for our 2 bed appt electric is about 23€pm when empty and an additional 10 to 15€ pw when in use (with aircon on all night ! .water is about 67€ pq. This hardly varies but most usage would be 4 weeks. Insurance 160€ pa. Commumity charge 118€ pq  for the upkeep of grounds and pool etc. No gas at the property. We also pay about 400 pa for non resdent tax ,suma and the company that sorts it for us.
