Hi, would anyone be able to tell me if it is easy using public transport to get to an Aqua/water park from Villena?

You can do it but it will be very longwinded. There is nothing direct of course.
You can catch a train from Villena station to Alicante which will be quicker than the bus. Then you will have to change onto a Torrevieja bus then change again at Torre bus station to get out to the Aqua Park.
I have never done it but that is the route I would try.
You could also take the AV (high speed) train from the Villena station outside town which also goes into Alicante.
