HelloTomb

My reply was not to you, I was responding to the post  above my reply. If you look you will see I reposted thatquote.

I would still like to know where this market is in Torrevieja as Ive seen nothing advertised.

Cheers

The market is between the bus stop at the marina and the musical statues. I,  having said Christmas market may have jumped the gun. It may be a pop up market. My apologies for the misunderstanding in regards to your post.

I think you must mean the Marine Market  which is on this weekend.

This is a heads up: I went to the first stall of the Christmas market going into Torrevieja. They sell sausages, chips spare ribs etc. I noticed people around me were questioning their bill then paying. I asked for my bill (sausage, chips, a pint and a glass of sangria): 50€ !! I asked for a br...

...ake down, chips 20€. I told the guy I’m not paying that and said I’d pay no more than 25€. Call the Policia I said. He went away, came back and accepted 25€. They are there to just rip people off. Tell your friends

I'd have handed the lot back and told him where to go

Hello

Perhaps if you looked at, or asked for prices before you ordered, it would prevent having to be abusive to the vendor! There are more civilised ways of dealing with issues....

Again I would like to know where this Christmas Market is ( in October)

Cheers

Elinspain

When your dealing with thieves and they come in various disguises thats the only way to treat them I'd have told them the same. Politeness doesn't come into it.

We also had the same at a market in Avilla.  The price list was too high up to see the prices.   We had ribs, chips and a drink each nearly 100 euros.  We also had to send ribs back as they were not cooked.  Then they tried to say we ordered additional ribs.  We complained and got police who were great.  Took our statements and apologised to us for what had happened and filled in complaints book with us.   These places are a total rip off and they should be avoided.

Where thieves are concerned I don't have manners or courtesy and my mental state is just fine. If you want to say please and thank you to a thief then you are welcome to do that.

Cheers

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

If you read through the posts I don't think anyone has "attacked" the OP. There has been criticism of one or two replies to the OP's post but not of the OP.

From the responses I would say the OP has given us a good warning, to watch out for excessive charges at some market food stalls. I would not have expected costs to be so high for ordinary food items and would probably have been caught out as well. The first warning sign is the lack of a menu with prices.

Rgds,

Aitch.
