Healthcare on return to UK

We moved over to Albir just before Covid and took out Private insurance as we were not yet 60. About 18 months my partner was diagnosed with Cancer and received treatment over here accordingly. She has now been diagnosed as terminal. We feel we now need to return to the UK to be close to friends and family for support during her final months. We are actually still registered with our UK doctors.

Has anyone had similar experiences and would we be able to easily just start accessing the NHS again and any appropriate hospice facilities.

Any advise or comments would be appreciated.

Please don't offer apologies or sympathy, as we are already blubbering wrecks.

Until someone with actual knowledge of this replies to you, this might help.

I have no personal experience of this but know that all of my friends who returned to the UK had no problem accessing the NHS on their return. There is some information on the UK Govt site that might help:

My 2 friends both returned to Scotland, she has lung cancer and he unfortunately died a couple of weeks later with pancreatic cancer, both had first class medial treatment from the day they arrived. They were both Uk pensioners so we’re entitled to UK healthcare anyway.
