Hi Folks ,looking for some help re T.I.N my bank has asked me to send them my number for tax reasons but I dont know what this is our how to get it I am with Sabadell Bank and am non resident thanks

The TIN for foreigners is their NIE number.
Hi Jim thanks for your reply although on reading it again It states tax number from country of residence so will need to try and find out what that is here in the uk

It is your tax number from country you are resident in. I had the same issue and emailed a contact in Banco Sabadell, in UK it is your NHS number, Ireland your PPS number.

You will find that they require your UK National Insurance (NI) number. This is because later this year HMRC will have access to the information in bank accounts held by British Nationals across Europe, looking for interest and profits that haven't been declared.
Fines can be heavy so it is best to get your books in order.

That's interesting information, and I'm all for it.
Do you know if it works the other way round, and Agencia Tributaria will have access to information about UK bank accounts held by residents here?
If so, and if they actively pursue it, then they could catch out a lot of tax dodgers.

This is only relevant if you are self employed and it is on the top of your tax return. If you are employed use your ni number.
