We have just had an offer accepted on a house we are buying in Algorfa and are looking for a good reliable broadband deal. We have been offered a deal from Vega Fibra for "up to" 300mb download speed, which sounds good. It's the "up to" that bothers me. Does anybody have this service and what speeds can you actually get and how reliable, and is it fast enough to stream Netflix, Amazon Prime etc.......?

Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube etc require about 10mb download speeds to work well. Faster download speeds allow a better resolution/picture.

Up to 300mb up is the maximum speed the fibre line will produce.

Ie; if you connect through the cable on your computer you should have a download speed of about 290mb. A little bit of the speed gets lost on the network.

I have 100mb fibre optic. My usual download/upload speed is about 95mb. On my higher speed WiFi computers, iPads, etc.

On my Laptop the best speed is about 50mb, same with some of my Android devices. They use older WiFi networking.

Full speed use of the fibre line depends on what’s connected to it.

300mb is a lot of internet. More than enough to run a business or play computer games.

Did go for Vega Fibre, 24 euros a month. Mainly because they were convenient, office is just around the corner.
