Hi,
There certainly is a market for homecare in the costas and throughout Spain and that is why there are many homecare companies have set up over the years to the point of saturation.
Personal care/Care workers here in Benidorm get paid around €7.50 per hour and are expected to drive and work long hours.
If you are UK passport holders and want to retire and live in Spain permanently you will need to apply for the non lucrative visa from the Spanish consulate in London, Manchester or Edinburgh. You will need to meet the income and healthcare requirements. The income requirements for a couple would be around €34,000 and you will need full healthcare paid privately or through the S1 healthcare scheme which is paid for by the UK government.
If you are successful with your visa application then you can move over to Spain and apply for residency.
To set up as self employed as care workers but that route is very expensive, complicated and a convoluted route to gain work.
It will virtually impossible to move here and find employment.
